232-Help Announces New Hours of Operation

Lafayette, La. — [January 12, 2026] — 232-Help, the community resource and referral line

serving residents across Acadiana, announced updated hours of operation beginning

March 1st, 2026.

Effective March 1, 2026, 232-Help will end overnight phone coverage except during

disaster. Our agents will now be available Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00pm by

calling 232-Help (337-232-4357) or by texting 898-211, excluding holidays. Outside of

these hours, individuals needing access to resources can visit our online resource

directory at www.232-Help.org.

“This change allows us to be available when people need help most while ensuring the

long-term financial stability of the organization. Call volume during overnight and weekend

hours is consistently low, making it impractical to maintain full-time phone coverage during

those times,” said Edie Aymond, Executive Director of 232-Help. “We will continue to stand

ready to scale up to 24-hour phone coverage during disasters, just as we always have, to

ensure our community has access to help when it matters most.”

232-Help serves as a free, confidential resource line that connects callers to verified

community services across Acadiana. Trained specialists listen, assess needs, and provide

referrals tailored to each caller’s situation.
