232-HELP, Inc.

232-HELP was established as an education and referral center to identify, catalog and better connect those who need social service support to providers of those services.  We are a one-agency, one-address, one-telephone number that individuals in need or in crisis - or other service providers - can access to seek information, advice, guidance and referral.  If services within the community are unavailable, the agency stimulates, develops and fosters services to address unmet community needs.

232-HELP has given birth to more than 30 different nonprofit organizations including: The Rape Crises Center, The Child Protection Agency, The Community Health Clinic, The Epilepsy Support Group, The Down Syndrome Foundation and others.

Current in-house services provided directly by 232-HELP include: The Medical Appliance Loan Program, Project Rx, Medical Transportation Assistance, Christmas Program and Enhanced Information & Referral  / 2-1-1 Services.  One of our flagship programs is the 232-HELP Donated Dental Program. Since its early years, 232-HELP has had a group of dentists who volunteer their time and services whenever asked to treat the elderly and disabled without funds or insurance for their critical dental needs.  The program has grown to 49 dentists, and since 1988 has provided more than 1.937 million dollars of in-kind services.

Beginning in 1965, 232-HELP / 211 has had an economic impact on our community that exceeds $164 million and returned more than $40 million of in-kind services to the communities we serve.

Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with 24 hour on-call services. We are located at 1005 Jefferson Street in Lafayette, Louisiana.
