Pandemic Flu- A virulent human flu that causes a global outbreak, or pandemic, of serious illness. Because there is little natural immunity, the disease can spread easily from person to person. Currently there is no pandemic flu.

Lafayette Police say people who submit fraudulent claims could face up to ten years in jail, fines of up to $3,000 or both.
The Louisiana Department of
Health and Hospitals has
released the following list
of tips for evacuees
returning to their homes in
the wake of the train
derailment in Lafayette:
Ventilate your home,
open doors and windows.
Replace air conditioning
filter.
Rinse outside areas such
as patios, porches and
outside furniture.
Rinse gardens and
plants.
Pets may have eye, nose
or ear irritation.
Consult a veterinarian
if you think your animal
is sick.
Perishable foods left
outside should be thrown
away. Uncovered bread
and cereal should also
be discarded. Canned
foods, and foods in
sealed containers should
be ok to eat.
Consult a physician if
you feel sick.
Those people who are
experiencing the following
symptoms can go to the
hospital, private clinic,
and/or walk-in clinics.

Headaches, Watery Eyes, Skin
Irritation of the face
